SOMATIC DIALOG WITH BALLS, BAMBOO STICKS AND OUR OWN VOICES
'rest, renewal, inspiration and enjoyment of tropical nature'

Come to the Estudio LOS ALMENDROS, between Montezuma and Cabuya, in the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica, for the 18th January Vacation-Workshop, when friends and colleagues meet to share current investigations on the Somarhythms’ approach to the use of balls, bamboo sticks, and other props that facilitate sensing and interacting with our inner functioning.
This year’s focus is on the body’s tensegric organization, the support of sounding and vocalizing, and on our body’s responsiveness to tropical nature, a powerful stimulus of our unconscious movement heritage. Guided and facilitated by Andrée Dumouchel, contemporary dancer, somatic educator with extensive experience in outdoor sports, principal collaborator in Somarhythms’ initial research, and its foremost teacher—has taught it as a semester course to over 3000 young college students, and Ninoska Gómez, Latin-American dancer, somatic educator and researcher, lover of sounding, vocalizing and authentic movement, creator of the Somarhythms’ approach, founder and director of the Estudio LOS ALMENDROS.

Costs: $1200 or $1000 US for 45 hours of group movement research activities (5 hours per day, 25 hrs during first week, and 20 hours on 2nd week)= $750, plus, lodging for 13 nights, $35/night/cabin, single occupancy= $425, or, $20/night double occupancy= $260. Food on one's own, calculate around $15-$18 per day. Registration before October 15th guarantees a discount of the $75.
